Job Description
A Patient Advocate Liaison is responsible for managing new referrals from various referral sources. They complete the patient registration process including benefit verification, prior authorization, documentation, and effective communication internally and externally. Our purpose is to always advocate for our patients by providing an excellent experience from intake to infusion.
Responsibilities:
· Communicating with Hospital Case Manager’s via Allscripts, Navi Health, telephone, or email
· Performing verification of insurance Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and other lines of business
· Data entry of new patient accounts
· Managing prior authorization submission process through pharmacy and medical plans
· Coordination of new patient care with sales, pharmacy, and nursing team
· Assist patients with various internal and external copay assistance programs and grant programs
· Communicate effectively patient insurance benefits and financial responsibility
· Collect patient out of pocket costs
Requirements:
· Minimum two years’ experience in home infusion setting
· Minimum of two years’ experience in insurance coverage and prior authorization of infusible drugs
· Knowledge of local and federal insurance regulations and HIPAA
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to multitask
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Ability to adapt to frequent change
· Willingness to learn new functions
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
